Portal Birthdays
Here you set a single, tenant-wide rule: does the "Today at the company" tile on the employee portal dashboard show, company-wide, who has a birthday today? That tile also shows who is approved-absent today - that part is unaffected by this setting and is always visible. Only the birthday part can be switched off here.

Toggling the birthday display
- Open Portal Birthdays.
- Switch the toggle labeled "Show birthdays company-wide".
- The change is saved immediately; a confirmation appears in the top right.

Frequently asked questions
Who can change this setting?
Only people with the "hr:manage" permission. Without it, the page is shown read-only.
Do all employees see the same birthdays, or only their own team's?
All employees of the same workspace see the same tile - it is deliberately company-wide, not limited to a team.
Does a foreign person's absence type also appear (e.g. sick leave)?
No. For every person, the tile shows only the state "absent", never the reason - a sick note is indistinguishable from a vacation day in this tile.
Why can't a birth year be configured or shown?
The date of birth is a specially protected attribute. The tile only needs day and month for "birthday today" - the birth year is never served to this tile server-side, regardless of this setting.
Can an individual employee exclude their own birthday from the display, even while this setting is enabled?
Not yet - this setting only applies company-wide. A way for employees to hide just their own birthday is noted as a separate, planned item.
