Notifications

Here you see all system and shop notifications that have been sent to you in the admin area — for example news about new releases, planned maintenance, or security alerts.

Since 24 August 2026 the bell is also your worklist. Alongside plain messages (release, maintenance, security) it now holds processes: things waiting for an action from you. A process appears for exactly the person who is meant to decide it, and it disappears on its own once the matter is settled - whoever settled it. The number on the bell therefore means "this much is waiting on me", not "this much has happened".

What a process shows

A process carries more than a message does:

  • What it is about - a title and a short addition, for example the period of an absence request
  • How long it has been waiting - the time it was raised, shown relatively ("2 hrs ago")
  • How urgent it is - a deadline marker: on track, due soon or overdue. It never relies on colour alone - each state also carries its own icon and its own wording.
  • What to do - an action such as "Review request" that takes you straight to where you decide

What changes for you

  • An absence request goes to the requester's direct supervisor - no longer to everybody holding the "Manage HR" permission. Until 24 August 2026 every one of them received every request; with five holders, five people saw the same request and nobody owned it.
  • Settled processes disappear. Once a request is approved, rejected or cancelled it is gone from your list - including when somebody else decided it.
  • Processes cannot be switched off. E-mail messages will become opt-out; your worklist will not. Whoever could switch it off could go blind to it, and an approval would then sit for weeks without anyone noticing.

When no supervisor is recorded, the process is not sent to everybody as a fallback. The system reports a defect to the operator instead, so the personnel record gets completed. Enter a supervisor in the employee's personnel record and the next request finds its recipient.

What can I do here?

  • View all notifications grouped by time (Today, Yesterday, This week, Older)
  • Show only unread notifications
  • Mark a single notification as read
  • Mark all notifications as read at once
  • Delete a notification

Step by step

  1. Open "Notifications" in the sidebar.
  2. Use the "All" and "Unread" tabs at the top to filter the list.
  3. Click "Mark as read" on a single notification to acknowledge it.
  4. To clear everything at once, click "Mark all as read" in the top right (only visible when there are unread entries).
  5. Notifications you no longer need can be removed with "Delete".

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see some notifications anymore even though they arrived recently?
Check whether the filter is set to "Unread" — already-read entries are hidden then. Switch to "All" to see them again.

Can I restore a deleted notification?
No, deletion is permanent.

Do I have to reload the page for new notifications to appear?
No. The admin area keeps a live connection, so new notifications appear on their own. If that connection is unavailable - for example on a network that blocks it - the list refreshes automatically at short intervals instead. Nothing is lost either way; it may simply take a moment longer.

Why did an entry disappear that I never touched?
Because it was a process, and somebody else decided the matter. That is intended: your worklist shows what is still open, not what once happened. Whatever left the list remains readable in the archive.

I hold "Manage HR" but no longer see absence requests. Is something broken?
No. Since 24 August 2026 requests go to the requester's direct supervisor, not to every holder of the permission. If nobody has you recorded as their supervisor, no request will reach you. The requests themselves are unchanged under HR → Absences → Requests.

What's the difference between "Mark as read" and "Delete"?
"Mark as read" keeps the notification in the list but removes the highlighting. "Delete" removes the entry entirely.
