Areas
An area is a menu entry - a sub-page you see in the sidebar. On this page you decide which areas your business actually uses. Whatever you switch off here disappears from the menu and stops answering over the interface as well.
The page only lists areas that are available to you. Areas still being tested do not appear here at all - they are not "off", they are simply not yet intended for you.
What can I do here?
- See which areas are available to you
- Switch an area on or off for your business
- Withdraw your own decision and return to the default
- Filter by area, product or state and hand the view on as a link
Step by step
- Open "Areas" in the sidebar under Settings.
- Find the area in question - via the search field or the product filter.
- Set "On" or "Off" on the right. The change takes effect immediately.
- If you decided yourself and want to undo it, click "Reset to default". The value the area shipped with then applies again.

Frequently asked questions
Do I lose permissions when I switch an area off?
No. Your employees' roles and permissions stay stored unchanged. If you switch the area back on later, everyone holds exactly the rights they held before. While the area is off, its permissions do not appear in permission management - they are not deleted, merely not offered.
Why can I not see an area I have heard about?
Then it has not been made available to your business yet. That is the usual path when a function is tested first and rolled out afterwards.
An area says "Default: off" - is that a mistake?
No. It was deliberately made available to you with the starting value "off". You can switch it on at any time.
What happens to data in a switched-off area?
Nothing. Nothing is deleted. Access is closed, the data stays.
