Setup assistant
The setup assistant guides you through the minimum setup of your new workspace after your first sign-in - from company details to your team. It appears by itself after sign-in for as long as at least one step is still open, can be skipped at any time, and afterwards stays available under the Setup assistant entry in Settings.
What can I do here?
- Work through the four basic setup steps in order: company details, logo and colour, your workspace addresses, invite your team
- Enter company details as well as logo and main colour directly inside the assistant, without leaving the page
- Upload your logo right in the step or link it by address - with a preview at the size it will later be shown
- Jump to the matching settings page for the remaining steps with one click
- Skip individual steps - and undo that skip later
- Finish the assistant from any step as soon as all six steps are done or skipped - you no longer have to click through to the last step
- Put the whole assistant aside with Set up later
- Start the assistant again at any time, even after you finished it
- Read off the progress bar how many steps are done

/setupStep by step
- Sign in to your new workspace for the first time. You land on the setup assistant automatically.
- Step 1 - Confirm company details: Enter your company or shop name, contact email and postal address including the country, then click Save. The country is pre-filled with what you entered during registration.
- Step 2 - Logo and colour: Choose Choose an image file to upload your logo right here - or paste the address of a logo already hosted somewhere. The preview below shows it at exactly the size it will later appear in. Then pick your main colour.
- Step 3 - Your workspace addresses: The button opens the Addresses. Enter the address you and your team use to reach the admin area. It appears in every invitation and in every email to your team - without it nobody can be invited.
- Step 4 - Invite your team: The button opens Users and roles. Invite your colleagues there.
- Return through the Setup assistant entry in Settings. Completed steps are already ticked off.
- Click Finish the assistant. The button is always there on the last step - and as soon as all six steps are done or skipped, it is there on every step. The assistant closes and you land in the main menu, from where you continue to your product.
/setup?step=companyIf you do not want to do a step right now, click Skip this step. If you want to put the whole assistant aside, click Set up later at the top right.
Fields explained
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Company or shop name | The name of your business as it appears in your shop, on documents and in emails. |
| Contact email | The address your customers write to. It also appears in the legal notice and as the sender of emails. |
| Street and number, Postcode, City | Your postal address. Appears on invoices and in the legal notice. |
| Country | The country of your postal address. Pre-filled with what you entered during registration, changeable at any time. It belongs to the invoice address - for cross-border invoices it is mandatory - and determines VAT treatment. |
| Upload a logo | Opens the file picker. The chosen image file is uploaded immediately and set as your logo, without leaving the assistant. |
| Logo address | The link to an image file that is already hosted somewhere. An alternative to uploading - both routes lead to the same result. |
| Main colour | The colour used for buttons and highlights in your shop. |
| Progress | Shows how many of the four steps are done or deliberately skipped. |
Values & status
State of a step
- Open - The step is neither done nor skipped. It does not count towards progress.
- Done - The system has verified that the matching data actually exists (for example that an address for the admin area is stored). Done is not ticked off by hand, it is read from your real data. If you delete the data again, the step becomes open again.
- Skipped - You deliberately put the step aside. It counts towards progress but is not treated as done. Undo skip makes it open again.
Limits for the logo
- Recommended: 400 × 120 pixels, with a transparent background. At that size the logo looks clean in your shop, on documents and in emails alike.
- Maximum size and allowed formats are stated below the field. Both depend on your plan or the system setting and are therefore shown there with the values that actually apply - not in this manual.
- A file that is too large, or a format that is not allowed, is rejected with a reason; the message appears right at the field.
State of the assistant
- Open - The assistant appears by itself after sign-in for as long as at least one step is still open. Once every step is done or skipped, you stay on the start page; the assistant remains available through the menu entry.
- Finished - You completed it. It no longer appears by itself but stays available through the menu entry.
- Skipped - You chose Set up later. As with "Finished": it no longer appears by itself but stays available.
Frequently asked questions
Does the assistant reappear on every device? No. Finishing and skipping are stored on the server for your whole workspace - not in the browser. If you sign in from another browser or device, the assistant does not appear again.
I have done everything - why do I keep ending up in the assistant? That can no longer happen as of August 2026. As soon as all six steps are done or skipped, you stay on the start page. On top of that you can then finish the assistant from any step with Finish the assistant - before, that button only existed on the last step.
Can I open the assistant later? Yes, at any time through the Setup assistant entry in Settings. Start the assistant again also makes it reappear by itself after sign-in.
What happens when I click "Finish the assistant"? The assistant closes and you land in the main menu. You are not left standing on a completion page.
I signed out - do I have to start over? No. The step you last viewed is stored; you continue where you left off.
Why is a step already done although I entered nothing in the assistant? Because the state is derived from your real data. If you stored the addresses earlier, that step is done from the start.
Why can't I see the menu entry? The assistant guides you through your workspace settings and therefore requires the settings permission. Please contact your administrator.
Uploading the logo is rejected although the file is small enough. Uploading additionally requires the media management permission. Without it, linking by address remains available; for uploading, please contact your administrator.
I skipped a step - is that final? No. Open the step and click Undo skip.
Where did payment methods, shipping and the first product go? Those three steps set up your shop, not your workspace. Until August 2026 they stood here and were held up even to people who use SCS for CRM, HR or ERP and run no shop at all - together with a progress bar that permanently reported an unfinished setup. You still set these three up on their own settings pages; a dedicated assistant for the shop is in preparation.
